PIERRE HOTEL

This competition entry was done when the Taj Hotel group acquired the property.

Research unearthed the building’s design drawings from the 1920s, which describe its original English Regency interior.

Our proposal was to restore the original cardroom lobby and other spaces using that vocabulary, but inserting Indian Iconography into it. These Anglo-Indian Regency spaces are set off by a series of completely modern rooms, including two bars and the Fifth Avenue entrance to the hotel.
